The purpose of this committee is to develop recommended policies, procedures, and best practices regarding the receipt and management of donations of all kinds, including monetary contributions, goods, services, and other charitable support provided to the organization.
The committee will also be tasked with researching, designing, and recommending the creation of Kingdom funds intended to support and strengthen our community. Areas of focus may include:
- Park growth and improvement projects
- New participant recruitment and retention initiatives
- Community relief and hardship assistance
- Event fee subsidy and accessibility programs
- Youth and family support efforts
- Equipment, infrastructure, and long-term Kingdom development
This committee will serve in an advisory and recommendation-focused role. Final authority over how donations and funds are accepted, restricted, administered, allocated, or spent remains with the Blackspire Board of Directors.
Committee members will be asked to approach this work with the best interests of Blackspire as a whole in mind, helping build recommendations that support the Kingdom broadly rather than any single park, household, group, or individual interest. We are looking for participants with a variety of experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives who want to help ensure these programs are transparent, sustainable, equitable, and impactful.
The committee’s first meeting is anticipated to occur near the end of June.
Applications are open on an ongoing basis and will remain open permanently. Following the committee’s initial establishment, the committee itself will review and select new members from future applicants as openings and needs arise.
