Greetings people of the realm,
- Short sword and dagger
- Staff and short sword
- Small shield and long sword
I will be running a new style of tournament for the first half of Warmaster. Here is a full layout of how it will be run, please read through it thoroughly and if there are any questions, feel free to reach out to me for clarification.
The Telescope Tournament is a continuous ladder-style competition where fighters battle their way through three pits. Every victory will advance you, but a loss will send you back to the end of the line. How far can you go before someone ends your streak? How It Works:
- There are three pits, each with two fighters
- Each round lasts 15 minutes
- At the start of the tournament, the first six fighters in line fill the pits (two fighters per pit)
The tournament round then runs continuously:
- New fighters always enter Pit 1 from the front of the line
- Win in Pit 1 to advance to Pit 2
- Win in Pit 2 to advance to Pit 3
- Win in Pit 3 to remain there and defend your position against the next challenger advancing from Pit 2
- If you lose your fight in any pit, you leave the pits and return to the back of the line to wait for another chance
You can never skip a pit—you must fight your way through each one by winning your current fight. Round Structure: When the round timer runs out:
- No fighters may join the end of the line
- Fighters already waiting in line will continue entering Pit 1
- The tournament continues normally until the line is empty
Once the line has been exhausted, the remaining fighters in the pits will continue advancing:
- The winner of Pit 1 advances to Pit 2.
- The winner of Pit 2 advances to Pit 3.
Double Kills: If both fighters die at the same time, they will immediately refight once.
- If the rematch produces a winner, play continues as normal.
- If the rematch is also a double kill, both fighters are eliminated and return to the back of the line.
Scoring: Throughout the tournament, we'll track:
- Total Wins
- Win Streaks
The fighters with the strongest overall performances will come out on top—not just the last fighter standing.
After the round concludes, fighters will have a short water break and change weapons before the next 15-minute round begins.
Once all rounds of the tournament have been finished, scores will be tallied and those in the top 2 Positions will be declared and the second half of Warmaster will begin! The second half includes team separation and battlegames, details for which will be announced day of.
In service to the dream of our game and good luck to all who wish to fight in Warmaster!
Turtle Wildflower, Champion of Blackspire
