We are in October now and the Spooky season is upon us. I wanted to take this time to lay what we have in store for our first KLE of the reign and a bit of other things going on in the kingdom.

As you can tell this event is jam packed and we want to keep you busy throughout the day. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you at the event and all the entries for our many A&S competitions going on.
Additionally, for those who are “Studying the Blade”, if you would like to do a bit of warlord training hosted by me and a few others prior to the event (starting at 10 AM), please let me know as soon as possible so I can make that training meaningful. I invite all the warlords in the realm to join me as we work to put these ‘students’ through the ringer.
From the Office of the Kingdom Regent:

We also have our Best/Worst garb competitions this KLE. There will be a runway and music for you to Strut your stuff with your garb creations!
For Best and Worst Garb – You will be graded on a scale of 1-5 on the following criteria:
- Material Components and Design (Cardboard vs Linen)
- Attitude
- Theme

Final note: First week of November is the entry for the month-long Writers Workshop A&S, be prepared to submit your pieces to our panel of esteemed judges from 3 kingdoms for feedback, a chance to edit, and then final judging! (No entries will be accepted after the first week!)
From the Office of the Kingdom Prime Minister:
In regard to the October Althing Ballot Blackspire, three proposals are up for vote on the October 14 ballot, closing at KLE on October 17:
- Combat Archery Legal Opinion: Authorize up to $3,500 from the kingdom treasury for an Oregon-licensed attorney to provide a written legal opinion on Amtgard combat archery, Oregon law, and local park authorization requirements. Spending requires Board ratification, and the Board would direct the engagement.
- Standing Disciplinary Committee: Establish a permanent three-seat committee corresponding to the Monarch, KPM, and KGMR. Each officer could appoint an eligible member or serve personally. The proposal preserves required decision-making pairings and confidential appeals while adding continuity between reigns, conflict-of-interest safeguards, and two non-voting Board advisors.
- Treasurer Financial Oversight and Administrative Officer Duties: Place primary responsibility for accounting, reconciliation, financial reporting, audits, and required filings with the Board Treasurer. The KPM would retain collections, receipts, elections, and administrative duties while reporting to the Treasurer. The office’s existing non-Board status remains unchanged, and independent spending authority up to 10% of the general treasury per month, within the office’s duties, plus existing check-signing and authorized payment powers, is retained.
Review the full proposals in the October Althing Old Business folder before casting your ballot. Ballots close at 6:30 p.m. Pacific on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Eligible voting members, make your voice count. Get to voting!
From the Arena of the Kingdom Champion:
This first KLE is going to be a busy one for all our fighting inclined members, I have the Champion's Circus' first ring (Single Short and Single Short + 1 heavy thrown) Battle Games throughout the day and we're going to be handing out some relics! Details on the relics to come in a separate post soon! Look forward to seeing you all!
I would also like to remind folk that we currently have a Raid competition going on and will get the scores calculated for the month of September and sent out soon. Additionally, we have several online A&S Ithra’ s being run throughout the reign, so look forward to those announcements!
Lastly, I want to thank the all the good folks who ran Food Fight in September, not only were the prizes incredible, but they did a stellar job of getting the kingdom to participate in it. Helping to feed the hungry is not only noble work, but it helps continue the efforts of our work as a non-profit. It matters and I thank all of you for participating in it. I look forward to hearing the results from the competition and who receives all those wonderful prizes from the raffle.
