Your favorite Dark Prince here with some news from our outstanding PacWar and beyond!
First, here are the results from this reign's Dragonmaster! This competition had some of the most incredible performances and pieces I have ever seen, and so many of you have an immense number of achievements to be proud of! Thank you to my awesome judges- your feedback on not only the art, but the judging process and rubrics as a whole have been invaluable for me, and will continue to help those who will come after me.
Without further delay, your overall winner, by scores between the average of both of their entries, was: Flagg with a 4.84! Second place was Hel Ravenchild with a 4.75, and third place was Corbin Creekwood with a 4.7!
Best in Show for each category was:
- Dragon, Flagg with a perfect 5.0! Runner up was Thalia and Nox, tied with a 4.83!
- Owl, Hel Ravenchild with a 4.89! Runner up was Kitt and Flagg, tied with a 4.67!
- Garber, Corbin with a perfect 5.0! Runner up was Meliam with 4.44!
- Smith, Northern Lights' James (of Inland Ocean) with 4.5!
Overall, we had 29 Entries for 17 Contestants! Please reach out to me if there are any questions, but please keep in mind that as far as awards go, I am putting a lot of recommendations in as Pacwar Autocrat and as Regent in general, so expect delays in ORK recommendations (Feel free to rec yourself! I'll be around to support them when I get a moment) for the next few days.
Next, we have the final results of our Chef of Chefs cooking circuit! After six months of incredible meals and some of the tastiest creations this kingdom has to offer, one stands above the rest: Saint Murtaugh Draconis! With an astonishing three circuit wins, Murtaugh showed out with some fantastic meals and an lovely show of culinary talent. In second, with two circuit wins is Corbin Creekwood!
Speaking of Corbin, with less than six months in Amtgard, this player has had an INCREDIBLE Showing lately! Just as well, Murtaugh continues to show us the power and skill of a seasoned Amtgard veteran (I am not even gonna try to summarize Murtaugh's history in this game and our community, just check their ORK and you'll see what I mean!), this competition has shown that our community has a unique ability to recognize talents across generations of players, and goes to show how wonderful our community can be with inspiration and drive to make something new.
With that in mind, it is time to announce the results of our newest competition: The Elder Dragon Tournament! Designed to show our community what our incredibly talented masters can do, the attendants of PacWar were treated to some of the finest masterworks I have ever seen. With 13 items to choose from (including one incredible Hydra spread- seriously, do Hydra trials!), 75 votes were cast to find which master, chosen by peers, was worthy of the inaugural "Elder Dragon" title!
Today, I am pleased to announce that our winner is: Tara Redgrave, with her outstanding painting of a Phoenix on a stone medium, a truly stunning work of art that embodies the highest talents of our finst crafters. Please congratulate this incredibly talented artist when you see her next!
I would also like to take a moment to shout out Renwar, our runner up who stood neck and neck with Tara through the entire vote- your Bronze sculpt was one of a kind, and seriously one of the coolest pieces I've ever seen! The auction also grossed $175 for our artists and the scribes guild, so I hope to see this become a tradition in future reigns. Our community is made brighter each day by our masters, and I am proud to have shown their awesome works and dedication to the dream we all share to newer generations of players.
