Greetings Populace of Blackspire,

It is time to get ready for our first KLE at Dusk Hollow! We will be revisiting a tradition started by King Opikuningham several reigns ago! This KLE, Peasants Day, is designed to help with the following: celebrate and equip the new players of our lands, have a fun tournament and battlegames, and celebrate the legitimate class of Peasant.

What to Expect at Peasant’s Day:

THE GREAT PEASANT BAZAAR
This section of the event is for both veteran players and new players:

For the veteran players (OVER One Year) – I’m calling on all of our veteran players. If you have any garb, weapons, field or court items, etc. that you are willing to donate, please bring these items and we will setup areas for them to be stashed. Veteran players will then lay out all of the items and new players have first dibs at selecting from among them.

For new players (UNDER One Year) – You come to Peasant’s Day, sign up to get items, and get first selection from items veteran players wish to donate. There will be a time window for selection before it is open to the rest of the populace (please see the below timeline). You can choose one item until every new player has one thing and then it goes in rounds (I am also flexible on this system if other people have better ideas)

TOURNAMENT OF ROBIN’S MERRY BAND

This will be a bracketed, single elimination, best 2/3, tournament with three different weapon brackets, and a finalists bracket:

Bracket 1: Sword and dagger. Single Sword (up to long) and dagger. We may be of low birth, but we can fight like gentle folks.

Bracket 2: Great, under 7ft. Bring your quarter staff, hunting spear, or the greatsword you looted from a noble.

Bracket 3: Archery. 1v1, as many arrows as the person can carry, one bow, 3 min rounds, must move (5ft min) or fire every 10 seconds, you get two warnings to move or fire but on a third infraction you forfeit. No specialty arrows. Arrows do *NOT break a bow. May not use weapons other than a bow (any amtgard legal bow) and arrows. Arrow share is active. Join in the Rogue’s favorite pastime and practice your Archery skills! IMPORTANT NOTE: The winner of the archery bracket will earn a Kingdom Relic!

Points will be awarded for each bracket in the following manner: 1st place, 15 points. 2nd place, 10 points. 3rd place 5 points. 4th place, 2 points. 5th-8th place, 1 point. After all brackets are completed, the entrants with the top 8 cumulative scores will fight in a single elimination, best 2/3, Single Short bracket to determine the winner of the tournament.

BATTLEGAMES

Game 1 – Fireball Frenzy!
There will be balls flying, throwing skills tested, and points to earn for both players and teams. Game object balls will be in play that can be used to score points and as fireballs! IMPORTANT NOTE: The player who earns the most points will earn a Kingdom Relic!

Game 2 – Taxes!
Two teams, two towns, and a tax collector that neither team wants collecting taxes. This will be an escort game where, for every minute the tax collector is within a town’s border, that team earns a point. The team with the fewest points at the end of the timed round wins.

Game 3 – Oooo, Shiny Gold!
Capture and collect gold scattered across the field and bring it back home. Once a team has collected enough gold, or the timer runs out, the round ends. If the timer ends, the gold is counted and the team with the most wins!

NOTES/REQUESTS

We humbly request for volunteers to help reeve the tournament, cooking comp, and battlegames.

If anyone has spare daggers, greats, and bows/arrows they can provide for tournament use please let Turtle or myself know. We appreciate it.

Additionally, any tables or canopies that can be provided to house the Peasant Bazaar would be excellent. I hope there will be many donations from our veteran players for our new folk.
